A writer and an editor with a shared love of all things Southern, good food and good wine, and the open road, set off on a two-month road trip — only on two wheels, instead of four. The guiding principle: Slow travel and slow food meets high technology. Taking in charted and uncharted cities, towns, villages, and farms below the Mason-Dixon line with the help of the latest and best travel tools, from twitter to flip cams, iPhones to bike computers.
We’re embarking on this project because it’s something that we’re both incredibly excited about – getting out there, meeting people, seeing things, and sharing those experiences through our website, our twitter feed, our videos, and our blogs. We want people to feel like they’re a part of their journey – and then when we are done we want to give them the tools (maps, routes, snack stops) and the inspiration to undertake a trip themselves.
But we’re not leaping into this willy-nilly. We’re both seasoned travel writer/editors (although admittedly not the most rugged ones) and approach everything with an editorial eye – we envision creating a robust website with tons of original content ranging from short city stories and route guides to interviews and hotel tours.
You two are amazing!
My cousin is SO cool ! Wish I could ride too!
